Its mission is to go beyond the frontiers of space research from a scientific and technological perspective for the benefit of society.

The IEEC ranks among the best research centres internationally, producing a large number of high-impact publications and leading world-class key projects. It is the result of more than twenty years of high quality research work in collaboration with the best international institutions. The IEEC also develops instrumentation for multiple space missions thanks to a team of engineers with extensive experience in the aerospace sector and in sectors of high value in innovation. As a private non-profit foundation, the IEEC can have a versatile relationship with industry and private companies that are ultimately the ones that manufacture the certified hardware to fly on missions.
