Informació

Wildcaster develops tactical solutions for first responders, communities, and industry to prepare for, predict, and respond to multi-risk extreme events such as wildfires, smoke dispersion, and flash floods. It combines state-of-the-art predictive science and satellite observation with highly optimized processes running on edge computing, directly on the device and without network connectivity.

Activitats

  • GovTech: Developing tools for public administrations (civil protection agencies, fire services, municipalities, and forest managers), incorporating official population data, standardized tactical symbology (RD 38/2026, CWA 18017 SITAC), and seamless integration with existing command-and-control systems.
  • Space: Integrating Earth observation into real-time emergency operations, including wildfire detection from polar-orbiting (VIIRS, MODIS) and geostationary (MTG FCI, with a ten-minute cadence) satellites, burnt area perimeters from Copernicus EFFIS, and vegetation and fuel moisture indicators. This downstream application of space data for civil protection is validated against Copernicus EMS rapid mapping products.
  • AI: Applying machine learning to dynamic fuel mapping, classification and refinement of satellite detections, automatic calibration of propagation models, and warning prioritization based on projected impact, consistently delivering explainable outputs so incident commanders can justify their decisions.
  • IoT: Executing the entire computational pipeline on edge computing using ruggedized field devices—offline and without server-side processing—with ingestion from terrestrial camera and sensor networks, alongside an inter-team mesh replication that operates without any network infrastructure.
