Kimedes AI detects water leaks in underground infrastructure using satellite data and proprietary AI, with no sensors, excavation, or ground hardware required.
Its detection engine analyzes satellite imagery to identify subsurface leak signatures with high precision, giving water utilities and municipalities a faster, lower-cost way to find losses before they become emergencies. The approach can scale to any liquid escaping from buried infrastructure, with water as the starting point.
Kimedes AI is already deployed with paying municipal water operators in Catalonia. The company has been recognized with the GovTech4All Awards 2026 (Silver) by the European Commission’s Interoperable Europe Portal, selected for the BSC AI Factory incubation program, and is developing new capabilities with the European Space Agency’s Phi-Lab.
By reducing water loss and non-revenue water, Kimedes AI supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals on responsible water management, sustainable infrastructure, and resilient communities.
