OKTICS was founded as a technology spin-off from the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE), affiliated with the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), with the mission of transforming products, spaces, and objects into vibrant points of connection between brands and people. Since 2019, OKTICS has been developing solutions that combine physical connectivity (QR/NFC) with digital intelligence, enabling thousands of products to maintain an open communication channel throughout their entire lifecycle. Through connected tags and a modular platform, OKTICS allows for the launch of personalized content from any product or space, captures behavioral data after each interaction, complies with traceability and sustainability regulations, and transforms any campaign into a genuine return on investment channel.

OKTICS is one of the technology startups of the CIMNE Research Center, primarily focused on the development of IoT hardware and software. Currently, it is working on several projects, most notably the winning entry of the NEOTEC competition, awarded by the Ministry, where it will develop a smart mirror for remote rehabilitation and sports exercises, incorporating software and artificial intelligence for movement recognition.

1. OKOTags: An IoT software and hardware platform created with the idea of connecting information with devices. The utility model is proving successful in cities for keeping the population informed in real time through OKOTags in the form of smart keyrings. The latest OKOTags incorporate Blockchain technology to validate any type of product verification, thus serving as a tool to combat piracy.

2. OKO Mirror: The product under development; following the success of the NEOTEC challenge, the OKO Mirror is a remote training device that will assist rehabilitation patients in performing recovery tasks at home. The product will feature an AI that will modify and detect movement patterns, thereby validating whether the exercise is being performed correctly.
